Hampton Vale is the development of the southern township of Peterborough; it is the largest private development in Europe and will provide 7500 homes in four neighbourhoods. It features a shopping centre, employment and primary and secondary schooling.

RDC were instructed by George Wimpey to prepare a scheme for the development of their recently acquired land parcel. A  design brief has been prepared and this was strictly adhered to in considering the urban design. Working closely with Peterborough Council a new range of contemporary house types were prepared for the site. Planning permission was gained within 13 weeks.

Nigel Swaby, the Strategic Development Manager at Peterborough City Council, described the design as ‘a sound scheme with a basically consistent contemporary approach to the house design and layout’.
